Mary Ann Turnbull is the founder and Director of Turnbull School and Turnbull Learning Centre. She received her B.Sc. in Psychology from the University of Toronto and her B.Ed. and M.Ed. from the University of Ottawa Since the early 1970's she has been involved in the field of education, as a teacher and as an administrator developing programs as well as training and supervising teachers. Mary Ann values the importance of community service and incorporates this into the educational approach at Turnbull School. Social and environmental responsibility is emphasized in the curriculum. She has served as a Director on the Scouts Canada Foundation board, the Women’s Business Network Board as PR Chair, and the United Way, as Treasurer of the Executive Committee. She also supports local organizations with their fundraising efforts, such as The Ottawa Hospital Foundation, Rogers, and the Canadian Hunger Foundation.
